The Class Act Gala: Enchantment Under the Sea
November 16 @ 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
“Great Scott!” you’re in for an evening of Back to the Future fun as we pay homage to our past and look ahead to our bright future as a newly combined organization. The 2019 Gala will be held at the Hyatt Regency in the heart of downtown Denver, and features an opening cocktail reception, silent and live auction, plated dinner, event program, keynote speaker, live music, and dancing. Have fun with our Back to the Future theme by dressing up as your favorite character or according to one of the time periods. You can wear 50s prom attire like Marty McFly’s parents did at their “Enchantment under the Sea” formal or dredge out neon, shoulder pads, leg warmers, polo shirts and high-waisted pants.
We are excited to share that Denver Urban Scholars has merged with Denver Kids, Inc. Bridging nearly 100 years of combined mentoring and youth development experience, we enter this new chapter with the intent of streamlining efficiencies, deepening our programming impact, and bolstering outcomes for every young person we serve. Together, we aim to dramatically improve graduation rates in our community, with students graduating from high school and transitioning on to college or joining the workforce as future leaders. Your support of The Class Act Gala: Enchantment Under the Sea, at any level helps ensure that our combined 1,000+ students in over 150 Denver Public Schools will continue to receive the critical interventions they need to stay anchored to their education and on track to graduation and new possibilities for their futures.
Keynote Speaker: Daniel Coyle is the award-winning, NY Times-bestselling author of several books on leadership and performance, including The Talent Code, The Little Book of Talent, and his newest book, The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups. He also authored Hardball: A Season in the Projects, which was adapted to Hollywood Film starring Keanu Reeves in 2001.
