Annual Summer Solstice Golf Marathon

An incredible test of endurance was accomplished on June 14, 2010 - 100 holes of golf - all in an effort to support Denver Kids, Inc. students and our program.  Some teeing off as early as dawn, 31 golfers set off to test their love of the game in an attempt to play 100 holes of golf in 10 hours or less. At the end of the day, our exhausted golfers got their second wind when the fundraising totals were revealed.  Together, the 31 golfers raised over $32,500 – and contributions continue to come in! 

 Eleven Denver Kids, Inc. students also had the opportunity to experience the joy of the game.  Gene Williams and Chad Edwards, a Denver Kids, Inc. educational counselor,  provided instruction to the students on the driving range and gave tips on putting and chipping. In a few short hours, the students developed an excitement for golf that inspired many to participate in future golf camps!

Thank you to the golfers and the Golf Committee, as well as to the hundreds of people who provided financial sponsorship to the Golf Marathon participants.  100% of the funds raised by the golfers supports Denver Kids, Inc.
