Denver Kids has gotten some really great media coverage recently.
Dear Denver Kids Community,
It is with mixed emotion that I share I am leaving Denver Kids on December 30 to become the President/CEO of the Colorado Education Initiative. While I am excited for this new adventure, I am truly sad to be leaving the amazing community of Denver Kids.
The last six years have been extraordinary. The board, staff, and volunteers at Denver Kids are some of the most passionate, committed, and talented people I have ever worked with and I have learned and grown tremendously. It has truly been a privilege to walk this path with you.
Jennifer Andrews will serve as interim CEO effective January 1, 2015. Jennifer has been a critical partner to Denver Kids for the last six years and is well prepared to take on this role. She joined the Board of Directors in 2008 and served as Board Chair in 2011-2012. Her passionate commitment to our students' success combined with managerial expertise made it easy to select Jennifer as our Chief Operating Officer in 2013. Jennifer led our growth initiative last year resulting in Denver Kids serving more than 345 new students. With Jennifer's leadership, Denver Kids will not miss a beat as the agency continues to act on our commitment to be an impact player in ending the drop-out crisis in Denver Public Schools.
Peter Karpinski, Denver Kids Board Chair and COO/Co-Founder of Sage Hospitality, is leading the Denver Kids Board through a transition plan. You will hear more as the Board of Directors rolls out this plan. In the meantime, stay the course. The work of Denver Kids has never been more important.
I look forward to hearing about your progress towards the 2020 Vision, stories of the lives transformed, and your continuing commitment to the success of every child.
